I'm taking a Politics class in school and the topic of gay adoption/marriage came up and I was wondering what your opinions of it? (I looked for a pre-existing thread for it and couldn't find it)
But isn't sexual orientation part of why the people love who they do? Those orientated homosexually fall in love with those of their same gender while those of a heterosexual orientation look for a member of the opposite sex.
While that is true, you will find that marriages based on sex fail. When the people see more than a sexual partner, when they actually love each other, that is when they should get married.
Could they not see them as both a sexual partner and more than that? Im not saying marriage is completely revolved around sex Im just saying it is one aspect of why people love each other.
Thats what I was talking about, but I can see how my post was worded oddly. When I said more than a sexual partner, when they love each other, I meant it as like a step. Like they start with sexual attraction, then it grows into more.
I am against gay marriage. Look at the biology. Doesn't the biology of sexual intercourse kinda point that we were not designed to have same sex marriage?
Being against gay marriage because marriage, a man-made ideology, should be based off creation, a natural occurrence, is BS. Because homosexuals cannot create new life from each other does not mean they cannot love, unify, or have a mutual relationship. Marriage is an emotional factor in human life and as such, can be for any man or woman, regardless of sexual orientation.
So sexual orientation does affect whether you can love someone? If it is one of those steps to marriage that is.
No sexual orientation does not affect whether you can love someone. What I was saying is that sexual attraction is what often leads people to get to know someone who they might be interested in. You can fall in love without sexual attraction, but it happens less frequently.
