I'm taking a Politics class in school and the topic of gay adoption/marriage came up and I was wondering what your opinions of it? (I looked for a pre-existing thread for it and couldn't find it)

Yes, I've been to a number of Gay Pride parades where certain... self-important groups use the event to gain publicity and protest against some ridiculously minor and unimportant things.

I certainly point the finger of shame towards the Vatican.

I remember that the Vatican's early reaction to the 2002 revelations of general Church cover-ups of sexual abuse by priests was to declare that gay men should not be ordained.

I always pointed the finger of shame towards ad hominem attacks.

I've noticed that certain age groups and social classes seem to have a different ratio of butch to non-butch with the overall majority going to butch.
You know, I keep hearing about these butch lesbians, but the closest thing I've ever seen is a bisexual with short hair. Around here, lesbians seem to lean away from the "butch" "end" of the "spectrum". Which supports your observation, I suppose.

because on first glances and first impressions, they seemed cute, heterosexual girls.
Did you just say that lesbians aren't cute!?
People have got to relax on some of this stuff.

Well, it's a good umbrella for it.

Well, I better not get called cute. *mean face* I'm 100 pounds of pure terror. I'm a whirlwind of pain.

Aww, you're so cute when you're acting tough -hides-

On topic, the Vatican isn't to blame for everything but it has had a pretty big impact.

What's wrong with being complimented?

But the actions of Catholic Priests have nothing to do with the actions of homosexual pedophiles among the laity.

Lol, no I didn't, I just meant that they were cute. As it is, I haven't had many encounters with lesbian women, so I can't really make good arguments or speculation.

Well, I better not get called cute.

But yur cute when yur angry

Well, personally, 'cute' is not a compliment when directed at me. You probably just need to know me a bit better.

I agree, and Zxeno said it right earlier. It gives it a more umbrella blame, if you will.

Slavery ended long before anyone still alive today was born, you can't really lord mistakes over someone when they weren't born when it happened.
This is true, but some of the vestiges of slavery still exist today.

They're right, the Bible does say that. Let me just find the passages...
The Bible can't be trusted can it? It's a document thousands of years editing by anyone who ever wanted to..Add passages they want, take them out.

I think some people feel that having gay parents will turn a child gay.You can have straight parents and turn out gay. I would suspect gay parents would just be happy for their children no matter what sexual orientation they were.

The evidence suggests that homosexuality is not a conscious choice, but may be the result of epigenetics.

Epigenetic: Something that affects a cell, organ or individual without directly affecting its DNA. An epigenetic change may indirectly influence the expression of the genome.
