Why do half the people who visit the WEPR forums smear Christianity? Why don't you people realize that, yeah, Christians can be real dumb-a** mofo's from time to time, but yet there are many, many Christian organizations out there that do good all across the globe. Why must you spend your time trying to convince people that Christians are bad people when that is simply not true?
It's cause human nature makes us sinners, people that always want their way and not anyone else's.

That brings up a good point about the normal bibles. When you have children, you have children's bibles--ones that have pictures and easy-to-understand lettering. I had one when I was a wee laddie. I believe most of the bible's text is in children's bibles, but Leviticus, Revelation, and...Psalm aren't inside. There may be more. These are the more extreme parts of the Bible, as the Church thankfully acknowledged, and so the children's bibles are more...friendly. It's less intense, let's put it that way. I see where you're getting this at though.
Of course if this is such a great source of goodness and morals why would parts need to be edited out for children?
I dont' mean to go far off topic, but I'll show my chain of thought. When you brought up the children's version of the Bible, I was thinking.... "Okay, so it's a Bible with only the parts that serve as good moral lessons."
That being the case, it really just seems like all the teachings from Jesus is just regurgitated Buddhist lessons. So, instead of handing them a bible, hand them a book on Buddhism?

Yeah, whats up with that? Pretty much all other religions follow their way of life to the tee, but Christinanity is the only one that slacks and leaves things out, such things as how you can go sin all you want and kill people, ****, etc. etc. , but as long as you've got Jesus's number it's all good, and you can go to heaven.
Does anyone else see a problem with this? No other religion has as many divisions as Christins, because people don't like whats in the bible. So they go off and write their own.
Actually cweb, every major religion is like that. Jews don't follow everything in the Torah (since it's just the first 5 books of the Bible), and Muslims don't follow everything in the Qur'an, and both of these religions have multiple denominations, although Judaism has far fewer than Christianity. I guess with only 5 books there's less opportunity for disagreement
Only believing in some parts of the Bible seems pretty strange to me. Cause then you don't think that the Bible is "God's book" (otherwise everything in it should be true, right?". And how do you know which parts are true and which aren't?

Why Smear Christians?
the title says, because some people choose to and some don't. If that's your belief then ignore criticism. And don't complain about it either, because others lose respect for you. I for one, enjoy smearing Christians on toast.
It seems to me that many of the Christians that posted in this thread, who supported the idea that Christians were being smeared, based that support on very little fact or the mere existence of other religions and belief systems which disagree with their own.

I can't speak for all but: 1. I'm a former Christian 2. The majority in our culture are Christians 3. Some States in the USA still teach creationism in school (although I don't live in America) 4. Many Christians claim that the Islam is such a bad religion (which is true, because religions are bad) and cite the Qur'an although it seems to me that they don't even know what's in the Bible

Christians get argued with the most because practically everyone on here that has a religion is some form of Christian or Catholic, with some Mormon thrown in. It's also usually Christians' fault. For instance, there have been several threads that ask if God exists, and why. However, this is a general statement, directed at all religions with a deity. Christians just come in and turn it into an argument against Christians and atheists.

Well allow me to be blunt. Christians are smeared because Christians bring it upon themselves. While other religions BELIEVE they are the right religion, they do not run around shouting "Believe in my God or you will die!" in fact, the only other religion, that I'm aware of, that does this, is Islam. Funny thing is, that Islam stems directly from Christianity. The Islamic God is just like the Old Testament Christian God. Gee what a coicidence... Alas, I digress. Point is, Christians assert they are right and therefore when they get called on it, they get all high and upity and eventually stop discussing because they know they're wrong. THEN they have the nerve to say, "Stop picking on me!"
