Why do half the people who visit the WEPR forums smear Christianity? Why don't you people realize that, yeah, Christians can be real dumb-a** mofo's from time to time, but yet there are many, many Christian organizations out there that do good all across the globe. Why must you spend your time trying to convince people that Christians are bad people when that is simply not true?

Please explain this logic to me

If you create a universe, and you gave free will to the inhabitants, and they turned against you, and you decide to help them by sacrifising (sorry, cant spell) yourself, would you punish yourself as much as you punished the inhabitants?

I wouldn't bother with all that in the first place. I would just say "your forgiven", and go on about my business. Now for what ever reason I had to go through with this seriously messed up method of doing things, yeah I would leave that part of me there to face the same punishment. I would then have everyone else ascend into heaven since me doing that sacrifice to myself was meant to absolve them of what they are being punished for.

The problem is God created the problem. If God is all knowing of everything that will happen, and that has happened, then HE KNOWS BEFORE HAND that humans are flawed. Why? Well according to you, He made us. And thus by making us, made us flawed from the start. So essentially God is punishing us for his own mistakes... It's like if someone dropped a $20 bill on the street then went to hide and watch, then beat up whoever picked it up for "stealing".

they got kicked out to prevent them from eating from the tree of lie as well. Which would have made them immortal.

i.e. For all intents and purposes they would've become the equals of god.

Here's how I'm seeing it:

God creates humans, which means he knows every facet of our being, which also means he knows that we fall to temptation easily, especially we haven't learned of it's bad side effect. In addition to this, he is supposedly omniscient, which means he knows all that has ever happened, is happening, or will happen; follow that logic and you find out that God knew that Adam and Eve would eat the fruit, and why they did it.

So in the end, either God wanted to kick the humans out of Eden or he expected two creatures a few days old, to resist the cunning of the Devil itself.

Is it just me, or is this a lose-lose situation?

While that may be true, think about what may have happened if one of them would have been strong enough to resist, or had waited long enough to reproduce before eating the apple. The conundrum that would have followed would have torn the world asunder. God knew that eventually humans would fall to corruption, so he let them meet with the snake before they had children so that there wouldn't be a conundrum of sorts making people go crazy.

I would like to point out that is was the woman who ate the fruit first and then it took a while for the man to be convinced that it was okay to partake of the fruit.

Remember that the woman was created from the man. Yeah, we kinda screwed ourselves on that one. Literally and metaphorically.

I would like to point out that is ignorant and sexist.

But he knew what would happen. So this is moot.

I hate to take the Christian side of this debate, but I think that the fall of man is supposed to be an example of felix culpa, or fortunate fall. Essentially, the fall of man is supposed to actually be a good thing, because it enabled us to attain knowledge, etc.

That then raises the question of why all the punishment for it.

^adding to my last post.

Also if it was intended then why would this God bother with such a round about way and just make us with such capabilities in the first place?

Christians aren't bad... mostly. They're simply wrong. We atheists have convictions, you see. We do have beliefs. We believe in something called honesty.

If we are to live by our convictions, Christianity must be cast aside. Regardless of any good it may do, it is a lie.
