And as an extra, the current driver line-up for the season.

Hmm... Interesting. I finally found another F1 fan.

I watch F1 since I was like 7 years old and I could not stop watching. It is amazing how the things in F1 changed from the old times (1980, I wasn't born but my father told me everything about it and I watched a lot of videos and documentaries too).

I am pretty optimistic for this season. I think it will be more equal than the last one. There are newer drivers and I think they can do some thing in this season that is significant.

I got really sad with the Kubica's crash because I thought he could be in the fight for the championship this year. I think it was not necessary to him to do that rally race because of the snowy weather. I am still a big fan of him =).

Felipe Massa is the best pilot of my country but I don't support him anymore because of that "team game" he made with Alonso in that race. I got really pissed that day. I hope this season that doesn't happen anymore.

I like a lot of the tracks of the season but I don't like so much of some others. Monza and Singapore are my favorites. I like Monza because of the speed and the beautiful races that usually happen there. I like Singapore because it is a night and street race, that makes it more exciting. If you say it is not possible to pass there, watch what Kubica made last season when he got to the boxes in the end of the race and come back in 11th and then finished in 7th after wonderful passings. I hate Abu Dhabi track becuase the passing points are minimum and the races there are just boring. The South Korea race didn't make me happy too.

Well, I think I said too much now. And I have a lot more to say...

I was disappointed by the Kubica crash as well. Apparently, he had been rallying for a long time though.
As for who will do well, I feel that it will be the same guys as last year, with a possibility of Mercedes or Force India winning. I feel that Red Bull will again be the team to beat, but who knows with all the rule changes.

I don't support him anymore because of that "team game" he made with Alonso in that race.

I don't believe that was Massa's call. Ignore the orders and you will get kicked from the team.
Finally, as for my favorite track, I prefer Spa. I love the complexity of the track and the extreme unpredictability of any race that happens at that track.

Oh, yeah. That track is awesome. I forgot mentioning that one. A lot of pilots say that it is one of theirs favorite tracks. I really like it because there are a lot of turns and the weather is always changing.

I'd rather prefer be kicked from the team than almost make that Alonso's win takes the championship. Or do like Ayrton Senna (Idol) and Prost did in their championships. Throw the car on Alonso.

Apparently, he had been rallying for a long time though.

I didn't know that. However, know Renault doesn't have a *good* team anymore. I would go with RBR this year again. I haven't watched the trainings and I would like to know if that crappy teams got better this year.

I always vote for red bull :P

Red Bull is a great team, has excellent pilots (Vettel is winning a championship again, mainly if he doesn't mess up anymore) but I think this year the competition for the team's title will be harder. Ferrari and McLaren can be a lot dangerous this year.

In my opinion, the smaller teams should have more time for training and improving their cars because they were almost other category last year. HRT, Lotus and Virgin can have a big improvement this year and I trust a lot in D'Ambrosio on his first season.

Ferrari was dangerous last season, and came pretty close to winning the driver's championship. However, according to Jenson Button, McLaren does not have the pace of the Ferraris and Red Bulls.

They were behind last year too but they could win sometimes. That team can always make surprises. Red Bull has one of the best cars but they (Vettel) mess up sometimes and it almost cost the championship last year. I personally don't like Ferrari team.

Alright, the Formula 1 season starts this weekend at Australia, and first practice is but 22 hours away. Once again, red bull and Ferrari have been impressive in testing, but who will be better in race trim? always a contender as well is Mclaren Mercedes. Could they surprise the field by proving to be good after a not-so-great test? Or perhaps another another team like Mercedes GP could shock us all. F1 2011 is here!

I will have to wake up at 3.00 a.m to watch the race but I have done it for some years so it is easy. And I think Mclaren can make some surprises in Australia this year because Button won there in 2010. However, if Vettel doesn't crash his car again, I bet he is winning on Sunday.

And if he does crash, he will most likely take out Webber with him.

No, after that crash in Turkey (I think) last year the team boss should have talked a lot to both of them about that crash. I doubt they are doing it again. I won't watch the official training in a few hours, too tired for it but on Sunday I will watch everything. =)

The first race of the season was last Sunday, and if it says anything about the rest of the season, it is that this season is going to look a lot like last years. Sebastian Vettel won by a good 20 seconds over Lewis Hamilton. Even further back was third place (and making his podium debut) Vitaly Petrov.
the two Sauber cars were disqualified for having infractions with their rear wings. This removed them from 7th and 8th place finishes.

And now for results. This will look much like what Mrdaycee had set up last year.

Race Results/ Driver points:

1. Sebastian Vettel-----------------25 points
2. Lewis Hamilton------------------18
3. Vitaly Petrov--------------------15
4. Fernando Alonso-----------------12
5. Mark Webber--------------------10
6. Jenson Button--------------------8
7. Felipe Massa---------------------6
8. Sebastian Buemi------------------4
9. Adrian Sutil----------------------2
10. Paul di Resta--------------------1

Constructers points:

Red Bull-------------------------35
McLaren-------------------------26
Ferrari--------------------------18
Renault-------------------------15
Torro Rosso-----------------------4
Force India------------------------3

The next round of the season takes place in Malaysia, a track known to be harsh on engines. Who will win here? Find out in two weeks!

It appears that season 2011 is going to be boring unless the other teams get their act together and catch up with Red Bull and MacLaren.

Like I was saying to MrDayCee recently, season 2008 was the best for me and especially the last turn of the last lap of the last race in Brazil (under heavy rain) where Felipe Massa finished first and Lewis Hamilton was 6th and he needed to by fifth in order to win the championship. But, I forgot who it was that was ahead of Hamilton and being on slick tires, went off track and Massa lost to Hamilton. I was on the edge of my seat screaming at the TV. That was so exciting! I still get goose bumps when I think about it.

It was one of the toyotas, I remember that. That season was great, but I really would have liked to have seen Massa win that championship. He most likely will not with Alonso on the team now.

Yes it would have been great for Felipe to win at home. He really improved when he was with Schumacher but then he had this stupid accident and now Alonso is the team favorite so it doesn't look good.

Season 2011 remind me of the Damon Hill/David Coulthard period when Williams used to be ahead of everybody else until Michael started sticking to their, ahem, rear end with Benetton.

I like Fernando Alonso but Ferrari's cars cant catch up to Mclaren's or Red Bull's cars. Fernando Alonso is a great drive, he just needs a better car.
