The 2011 Formula 1 season is now but 3 weeks away. Already there has been drama, with the cancelation of the Bahrain grand Prix. This season is shaping up to be great again though, with multiple teams in contention and plenty of great drivers, as well as the introduction of adjustable rear wings and the reintroduction of the KERS system. So, what do you think about the season. Until the season starts, this thread shall be for prediction and general pre-season discussion.

And as an extra, the current driver line-up for the season.

Red Bull: Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber
McLaren: Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button
Ferrari: Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa
Mercedes GP: Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosburg
Renault: Nick Heidfeld, Vitaly Petrov
Williams: Rubens Barrichello, Pastor Maldonado
Force India: Adrian Sutil, Paul di Resta
Sauber: Kamui Kobayashi, Sergio Perez
Toro Rosso: Sebastian Buemi, Jamie Alguersuari
Lotus: Jarno Trulli, Heikki Kovalainen
HRT: Narain Karthikeyan, TBA
Virgin: Timo Glock, Jerome d'Ambrosio

I wish I could watch the race live to. I can't wait for the European races to begin.
I don't feel the Schumi has a shot, even with the rain. He's good, but the Mercedes has been so off the pace of the Red Bulls, Mclarens, and Ferraris that he won't even be close enough to pose a threat. Hamilton and Alonso I could see doing well though. Vettel, of course, could do well as well. I remember he won in wet conditions with a Torro Rosso a few years back.

Don't you have any way to record? Not even an old obsolete VCR?

If it's already raining before the start most of them have a chance but don't forget the reliability factor. The season is young and you know how hard these cars can be on the engine, gearbox, brakes, KERS, etc., when the teams are pushing to the limit.

I wish I could watch the race on Sunday but it is too early in the morning to me. So I will watch a rerun of the race by the afternoon on a channel from my country.

I remember he won in wet conditions with a Torro Rosso a few years back.

And now he has a championship, he will have even more confidence for this race. But I think Hamilton can change the things a bit..

Two of the headlines are of interest to me.

The first one is Redbull and the KERS problems. I think the other teams could take advantage of it but if Redbull remove the system completely it'll make their cars lighter.

The second one is the new circuit in Austin, USA. It's seem to be a very nice circuit but does it mean the end for the one in Montreal?

I don't think it is the end of Montreal because in the past, there were both Montreal and Indianapolis races, one week after the other, so I think it can happen next year.

I'm excited for the new U.S. grand prix. I always like having a race here in the U.S from a major international racing series. The only thing I can say is that maybe Austin was not the best city. There is not a ton in the area that I know of. Perhaps a pre-established track would have been better.

I was watching a show on SPEED TV and they were talking about it. Looks like there are going to be all kind of race events there and the facilities are great. I guess we won't know until next year.

I think you're right Pedro97, they might keep Montreal because most of the drivers and teams said they like it there. It's a very unique circuit situated on an island and easy to access by car, subway or on bike (if you're a bike nuts like me).

F1 has had no intentions of taking away the Canadian Grand Prix. They took it off once, but I don't think that had to do with F1 not wanting them. I like watching the Canada race myself. It a very interesting race track, perhaps I could go there some day for any race (I'd like to see the Rolex race if I couldn't see the F1 race).

It would be interesting to see a new track at USA (even though there aren't American Drivers). And what do you think about India circuit? Do you think it is going to be ready to the deadline? Is it going to be a good circuit or just another boring one?

Looking at the map on the F1 site, it seem to have 3 long straits, some fast corners, one or two 90 degrees turn. I hope they have an elevation change somewhere, that would make it more interesting.
Anyway I hope they're ready on time because the more race the better.

Which one are you referring to?

Anyways, the Austin track will probably will see a good deal of American racing, as I'd imagine the indycar series picking it up in the near future.

The circuit from India. I personally think it is going to be ready but I am not sure if it is going to be a good race. The Yeongam circuit wasn't totally ready last year but it was a bit fun to watch the race (it was 3 AM so I don't know so much :P)

There should be more races at night. It's exciting to watch and you can see the amazing paint job on the cars and the blue smoke from the exhaust, the brakes turning red, and the sparks when the road is bumpy.
