The 2011 Formula 1 season is now but 3 weeks away. Already there has been drama, with the cancelation of the Bahrain grand Prix. This season is shaping up to be great again though, with multiple teams in contention and plenty of great drivers, as well as the introduction of adjustable rear wings and the reintroduction of the KERS system. So, what do you think about the season. Until the season starts, this thread shall be for prediction and general pre-season discussion.

And as an extra, the current driver line-up for the season.

McLaren: Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button
Ferrari: Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa
Mercedes GP: Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosburg
Renault: Nick Heidfeld, Vitaly Petrov

I like many circuits but my favorite is definitely Monaco. Everything is narrow, the landscape is great, and there's always lots of action despite the lack of passing which is my only negative point.

Which circuit is your favorite?

Spa and Monza. I like Spa because it takes a long times to complete a lap, there are good overtaking points and the races there are always exciting. I like Monza because it is a traditional circuit and because of the turns and lines the circuit has. And of course, Monaco is awesome. Is that possible to make Monaco at night?

I enjoy the Spa circuit as well. It is a long, fast race course the seems to be very scenic. The races are great there as well, as they are so unpredictable due to the almost guaranteed rain.

That look VERY interesting! I'm looking forward to it. That remind me of Brazil a little with the elevation changes.

I liked the circuit very much. It is seems to be a really fast circuit, with a big straight line after and some other good straight lines. And it has a good elevation change. It says the time is about 87.20seconds -> 120 but I think the pilots can make better than it.

I watched practice 2 today and it look pretty much like last week except that Mercedes was p3 and p4 but it's only practice so...

Usually in the last 30 minutes you get an idea who's going to be strong. After that the times get slower because the teams probably try to see how the cars will work with a full tank.

I am really mad. While I support the use of KERS in F1 this year, it's really not doing Webber any favours. 'sif anything else could cause such a disastrous qualifying! And I bet you they won't have it fixed by the race, meaning that he's going to have real trouble even getting points tomorrow.

REALLY MAD.

third pole for vettel, with a hugely fast time, his car seems to be simply alot faster then webbers
But today's qualifying, I'm more impressed with force india and toro rosso, both teams seemed to have improved aot from last season

It actually works (some of the time), for a start (though that said his KERS also conked out in Malaysia, only by that time he had a half-minute lead). It annoys me more because since Vettel won the championship and has a much higher hit rate, Webber is now 2nd driver, so in reality he's probably less of a priority when it comes to getting stuff sorted out.

That kind of thing is really detrimental to an F1 career.

Vettel on pole again. BIG surprise. I can't wait for someone to beat the Red Bulls.
Webber does need to get on a new team. He has been mistreated ever since he joined the team, and this is just a continuation. He is too good a driver to be doing this to.

Yes I agree with you guys about Webber. The team gives all the good stuff to Vettel and let Mark struggle with the left overs.

The Renault team is starting to impress me a little. If they could fix their reliabilty problems they will do well.

I never thought I would say that but I hope MacLaren beats Redbull eventually while Ferrari figure out what to do to improve.

If I weren't such a big fan of F1 I would quit watching it for a while because it is getting boring.

Just imagine how well they'd be doing had Kubica not hurt himself.

oh, and I hope Ferrari figures out how to beat the freakin' Red Bulls. They looked stronger this week than the past two races.

i'd also like to note that somehow, Rosburg managed his way to 4th in qualifying. perhaps he could become a factor?

Yeah, they I think they will do well this year. And they could be a lot better if Kubica was still in the team, he has talent. But Petrov and Heidfeld are doing well on the team.

Remember his accident during the Montreal Grand Prix? :O
The car was in pieces and he survived! I hope he can come back sometimes this year.

I like Rosberg but I wish Michael was better, he only qualified 14th
(almost 3 seconds slower than Vettel).
