The 2011 Formula 1 season is now but 3 weeks away. Already there has been drama, with the cancelation of the Bahrain grand Prix. This season is shaping up to be great again though, with multiple teams in contention and plenty of great drivers, as well as the introduction of adjustable rear wings and the reintroduction of the KERS system. So, what do you think about the season. Until the season starts, this thread shall be for prediction and general pre-season discussion.

And as an extra, the current driver line-up for the season.

Red Bull: Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber
McLaren: Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button
Ferrari: Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa
Mercedes GP: Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosburg
Renault: Nick Heidfeld, Vitaly Petrov

You know, I wind up rooting against anyone who happens to be winning. In probably two years time, I'd be fine with Vettel winning.
Anyway, you already know who got the pole. God, he does that too much. Button will start second, and Alonso will start third, with Hamilton receiving a 3 place grid penalty for setting his fastest laps in 2nd practice under yellow flag conditions.
And some exciting news for U.S. F1 fans, New Jersey is going to be hosting an F1 race starting in 2013. General info can be found here. Can't wait to see that race.

The races have been great this past decade but now Redbull is repeating what McLaren and Williams did in the late 80's and early 90's.
This is what kill people's interest. When different teams win it's always more exciting. 2008 was the best for that same reason. We only knew the season winner in the last corner of the last lap of the last race of the calendar. I still remember the excitement!

I'm fairly sure that this was playing after Vettel went out of the race.
I happy to see someone besides Vettel won a race for once. I just wish it was Alonso instead. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers. Congrats to Hamilton.
And is it legal to pit on the last lap for a mandatory tire change, because I though you had to run a whole lap on the tires. I'm asking this because Webber did just that.

I'm glad Webber won the GP of Brazil. Now we have to wait until march for season 2012, that's a long wait. :/
Despite the fact that Vettel and RB won practically everything, the season was still interesting. I just hope that Ferrari and McLaren will improve the performance of their cars.

Silly season time! Can't wait to see who'll go where.
A first bit has already come in: Kimi Raikkonen will be back next year driving for Lotus Renault. Can't wait to see what he does.

He won't enjoy it for long. Being part of a lower team is a huge challenge and it's hard for the ego, having to let the fastest cars pass by. Unless that's what he wants.

I don't imagine that Lotus/Renault was as weak as they seemed. They didn't have great drivers this season, with Petrov, Hiendfeld, and Senna. Raikkonen is better than them, at least it seems that way. I could see him being a great boon for the team.

Ferrari hired Schumacher, they became winners again. They replace Schumacher with Raikkonen, they start declining and they still are even though Alonso has saved their butt. I'm not a big fan of Raikkonen. He's kind of boring.

I agree with you on the boring part. His voice is the most monotonous voice I've ever heard.

*Peek-a-boo* =D

I decided to check into the thread once again and... man... the season's over! Oooopss! O.o

LOL XD

Anyway, to mix myself in the discussion, I think it's (in terms of racing) a good thing they have Raikkonen back, simply because he was one of the cherries on top of the F1! Merely because of the action on the track, not because of his 'ever-so-interesting' monotone mumbling... =P
