You can't put "in my opinion" on any wrong statement to make it immune to being wrong. :P A lot of the really popular rap is like that, definitely - but characterizing the entire genre like that is silly.

pop music i dont really have a problem with. is the really bad songs that people like pit bull make that suck. but kelly clarkson has some great stuff, natasha beningfields unwritten is a great song, katy perry to me has some tolerable songs, james blunt is pretty good even though he is an *******. its just that **** that i here on billboard radio stations that are horrible, akon kinda sucks too XD
Yeah music has changed a lot during it's time. And Rap sucks now. The new rap sucks because all it raps about is sex drugs and murder. The old rap from the late 70's through the 80's and 90's was a lot better. Yes most of them where about sex and stuff. But a lot of it was about there life's and how they grew up. Witch is what makes 90's rap and today's rap a lot better.

again though. there are some rappers now-a-days that are paving the way for a good future generation that still keep some hope alive. like kanye west, eminem, jay-z, Nas, and lupe fiasco
There are many good underground artists in the genre and sub-genres of rock.
most people prefer their rock to be made by someone at least a bit known everywhere lie my chem. undergrounds though usually kepp their stuff to themselves.

The problem with modern day songs are that they are too repetitive. I mean really really repetitive.
theyre were just as many really repetitive songs back in the 70's as there are now, they are just dead and forgotten and for the best.

not even that, they're are GREAT modern rock bands that are AMAZING. Muse, Foo Fighters, Anberlin, RHCP, Dave Matthews is still kicking hard, Atreyu, BFMV, The Strokes, Radiohead, Coldplay, Rise Against, Mastodon, i could list forever dude
Music is kind of returning to that beatles age so i think that its starting to go back to the classic/minimalist sound. With recording tech now days anybody can b a bedroom rockstar and record almost professional music if they have the talent. theres just a HUUUGE selection of genres 2day, where as back in the day whatever the record company wanted to be popular was.
Well what we fail tom realize that their has been ****ty music since the beginning of time. There were other classical composers other than Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, etc.. Only the best of the best essentially is known. The rest were weeded out. Music hasn't gotten worse necessarily I just think when we look back on our era the crappy music artists won't be known.
