So, uh, yeah, the title pretty much says it. Lots of topics turn into religion debates, so this is meant for that. Mine is Atheist. Feel free to oppose, but I'll oppose your post, too.

Though I don't think reincarnation really changes your statement any.

Actually reincarnation makes death less scary, almost unconcerning. I recall an ancient short story I had to read for school a while ago. It was about an Indian prince who was deciding if he should go to war because he was worried about his men dying in battle. His advisor gave the argument of 'they will come back in another life anyway'.

If you follow the Buddhist reincarnation model of doing good deeds, doesn't actually make your actions selfish and not purely out of concern for others? It's as if you know you have a replay and that puts me off.

It's kind of like how Christians do good things because they want to go to heaven and don't want to go to hell instead of doing good things to be helpful.

That would be why I said dying and coming back as a lower form of life. (I think that might be a Hindu belief) If you do bad in your current life you come back as a lower form of life, do good and you move up the scale.

I lean towards Pastafarianism, by far the most believable religion out there.

None of them are more or less believable compared with each other, Pastafarianism included.

Well, nine pages of people stating their religions and I retain my title as this site's lone Satanist. Joy.

Specifically which branch of Satanism? Because there are atheistic/deistic Satanism, with both branching out to multiple branches.

Atheism: The belief that nothing was created by nothing...

I dont exactly have a specific religion... I look at it this way, it says that the guy on the cross next to jesus only said he believe in him, and Jesus said to him "I will see you in heaven" (more or less) This man... was being crucified meaning he was a pretty bad guy who wasn't doing very good things... I find every religion to have some form of flaw and since this man was allowed into heaven I see it as in; as long as you do believe in Jesus then you're all good. However I can't be atheist or agree with atheists at all in believing that this entire world and everything in it... so complex "just is" and that we evolved from monkeys. Where would the monkeys have come from? Where would the big bang have come from? They say humans only use 10% of their brains... maybe we'll never be able to truly comprehend how/why we were created.

Nope, not at all what it means.

a-; without, not
theist; belief in a god or gods
a-theist, atheist; without belief in a god or gods

This man... was being crucified meaning he was a pretty bad guy who wasn't doing very good things...

Your talking about Jesus right? :P

and that we evolved from monkeys. Where would the monkeys have come from?

We did evolve from monkeys, monkeys evolved from a shrew like creature. In other words the common ancestor between shrews and monkeys. If you would like to get into this in more depth we can take it over to the Evolution topic.

Where would the big bang have come from?

A singularity, no idea where the singularity came from but I have heard a number of reasonable hypotheses.

They say humans only use 10% of their brains...

Actually that's a myth. Hmm I'm an atheist and I'm not saying that.

maybe we'll never be able to truly comprehend how/why we were created.

So it's better to believe some non sense instead of seeking the truth....

Don't read threads about religions if you going to be that easily offended then.
