I'm always learning about some crazy urban legens and things, so I decided I'd bring a few of my favorites here to AG, for you gusy to look at. I'll explain the legend, and tell you whether or not it's true. I'm only going to put in a few here, but if people like them , I'll post some more.
Coca Cola translated in Chinese means "Bite The Wax, Tadpole!"
Not Quite True
When Coca Cola hit China, they needed to find some Chinese characters that would be pronounced as "ko-ka-ko-la" While the company was searching for a good translation, Chinese shopowners just put together strings of words that sounded like Coca Cola, with no regard as to what they ment. A few were "Female Horse, fastened with wax", "Wax Flattened Mare" and of course, "Bite The Wax, Tadpole!!" The Coca Cola company finally settled on "to allow the mouth to be able to rejoice." translation.
The Camel Spider
Real animal, inaccurate facts
The Camel Spider is a real insect that lives in Iraq, but theres a few exxagerations told about them. Hers a few of the untrue tales.
-Camel Spiders can be as large as dinner plates.
-They can jump several feet in the air.
-They have venom that numbs their victims flesh, allowing them to chew on them as they sleep. (Theres quite a few faux tales of soldiers waking up to find they're missing chunks of meat.)
-Camel Spiders can run on the desert sands 25 MPH, screaming the whole time.
-They latch onto camel's stomachs and lay eggs in them (That's where the name comes from.)
All these tall tales make them sound pretty ferocious, but in truth, Camel Spiers only get a leg-span of about 5 to 6 inches, they can only run 10 MPH, theyre silent, and they have no venom. However, they only use the back three sets of legs for running, the front pair are held up in the air.

from the legend show on deiscovery it was the one where a small gang of 3 were messiong with a couples car while they were in it and he held onto the back part (it was an old type car) and the guy stepped on the gas and the other guys fingers ripped off and stayed on the car
tre is also this one where this otehr couple (oldys) went to china (or sumthing) and brought their poodle and went to a restaurunt where noone spoke english and when they got there they tried to ask the ppl to take their poodle to sum place to take care of it and when the waitress came bak she had the collar and food...they began to eat the food but realized they were eating their poodle!
Whoa, sucks for the poodle, but theres a moral to that. "Never let people who can't understand you take your poodle, especially if your in a restaurant."

A man is in mexico. He is interestred in cacti. Hes is lokking a cacti when he sees one that he just loves.Its a cactus. He buys the plant for a hefty $200. He is hoping that the cactus will get by border patrol and it does. It makes an exelent decorative in his house. 2 weeks later he waters the cactus but when he sprays it the catus shakes. He can't belive what he is seeing! He sparys it again and it shakes again!He calls a local plant profeesinal. He tells him how he got the plant and what is happining. HE tells him to get out of the house now and that he would be a the house in ten minutes. So the man goes outside unaware of the situation. The plant profeesional arrives along with a bio hazuraud truck.The bio hazouroud men go in to the house a bring it outside and they torch it. The man is outraged. He can not belive what is going on. He demands an explanation. The plant professinal begins to speak but as the smoke clears up and he see the remains of dead bird eating tranchulas.
The tarantula one is scary.
I'll never buy a cactus.
Florglee2 says that the bird eating tarantulas can get to the size of dinner plates...

Spy Hunter: The Dolphin Edition
Unconfirmed, but i'm gonna go out on a limb and guess false.
After the Hurricane Katrina incident in New Orleans, Leo Sheridan was very upset, not only for the people in New Orleans, but for a squad of highly trained anit-terrorist dolphins, equipped with poison darts. He claims that the Hurricane washed out the dolphin anti-terrorists to sea, and they are now lost. Sheridans concern is that the dolphins were trained to shoot divers that simulated terrorists, and may now accidentally shoot out an unsuspecting diver. The darts are meant to put the victim unconscious, so they can be interrogated later on, but the bodies may not be found for hours.

yeah, about the bears I saw a show on something like that. There is a man that spends almost all his time with the bears to study them up close, even though he knows there is a good chance he will get heart. Then there is an other guy that lived with wolfs in a zoo for 3 years! Since they were born he was there leader (both of these are true).
Wow! These are so fun to read. I'm sorry I don't have any that have not already been mentioned, or at least that I can think of.

a woman in spain lived in a house her name was maria gomez
she saw a strange formation on her kitchen floor one day after days it formed to what looked like a face 2 weeks it was complete maria gomez was scared so she got her husband to break all the cement and re cement it but when they broke the cement human remains were found but only skulls so they removed the remains and recemented it a month passed and the faces were back but there were more of them and they had diffrent expressions and over days they moved places in the room scientists took a piece of the cement tested it and found no artifical dyes or colors maria gomez died at the age of 62 and the faces still evolved and moved this is one of the top paranormal sciences ever and this is true
