The original "This Thread is Currently About" is back! Yes, it's Count to 100!

HOW TO PLAY

1. Count by ones from 1 to 100 in 100 consecutive posts according to the Core Rules.
2. Restart the count from 1 after:
a. a Moderator (or an Administrator) makes a stopping post (post without counting) if users and Knights are counting..
b. a user or Knight or Warden makes a stopping post (post without counting) if Moderators and Administrators are counting.
c. breaking a core rule, spamming, or cheating.
d. reaching 100.
3. Announce why you restart the count so other counters don't get confused.
NOTE: For the time being, Moderators are allowed to help Users count, so as long as the other rules are observed you do not need to restart the count if you see a mod count. However, if a Moderator makes a stopping post, i.e. a post without counting (not the same as a non-count post since they're technically different teams), it is considered an interruption and the count will restart.

CORE RULES

No mistakes. A count must start from 1 and increase by ones up to 100, save for exceptions noted.
No double-counting. No counter may count two consecutive numbers.
No back-to-back counting. No two counters may alternate for more than three consecutive numbers.
Okay: P1 P2 P1 P3
Not Okay: P1 P2 P1 P2
Okay: P1 P2 reset P1 P2
No editing. No counter may edit their post. If an edit tag shows on a count, the attempt is forfeit.

ADDiTiONAL RULES

No "spamming". Please don't post only the number and please don't post gibberish, either.
Multiple one- or two-word counts may also disqualify a count.
No "cheating". This shouldn't need to be said. Counting to 100 doesn't count if you cheat.
This is an exercise in teamwork, not rule bending.
No "spoiling". Don't mess with the count. Posts should start with the correct number.
Posts with no numbers should be ignored. See also: No non-counts.
Posts with intentional mistakes should be ignored.
No "spilping". If this is your first post in this thread, please post "I'm new and here to count to 100!"
No non-counts. No counter may post without a counting number or make a post without bolding that number if that counting number is not at the start of the post.

COMPLETE SET OF RULES
Please refer to the complete set of rules for additional information and examples of what is valid or invalid.
DiSCUSSiON THREAD
Please also check out the discussion thread for new gameplay or rule proposals or general discussion on the gameplay and rules of "Count to 100".

END GAME

Once you reach 100, you start this Sisyphean task all over again back at 1. Users should notify the Commissioner of the Count (HahiHa) that the count reached 100 and the Commissioner will review it to make sure there were no mistakes or cheating. If there were no mistakes or cheating, then the users who took part in the successful count to 100 will get a shiny new Quest!

17. @LordLazyLeopard Wow I see that it's not stated in these rules, my memory must be overloaded now or sth... I've read somewhere that on this forum the rule is that people shouldn't double-post but instead just write everything in 1 post and if needed edit - it is considered as a spam (yeah I know we can't edit posts here)-:

You guys are right... So everything else is not yet determined right? Then people have the power in their hands to change the world around them. Let's try changing it for better xD

1. Determinism seems true, at least for the world as it is. This is the claim that every event is caused. But that's a different claim than whatever happens is unavoidable.

But consider the following claim: you will eat breakfast next Tuesday morning. It seems like this statement is either true or false. Let's suppose you do end up eating breakfast next Tuesday morning. So the statement is true. But wouldn't that imply that there's nothing you could have done to change that? In other words, it's already true that you will eat breakfast on Tuesday. And there's nothing you can do to make a statement that is already true into a false statement.

If you want to make the move to say that it's only 'probably true' that you will eat breakfast next Tuesday, then what do we say about the following: The sun will rise next Tuesday morning. Is there a difference between this claim and the breakfast one that would make the former determined while the latter isn't? Is there something special about agent events that make their truth conditions different?

1 - TL;DR - don't forget to include a number in your post.

Also something something Schrödinger's Future Sun & Breakfast.

2. I also thought about Schrödinger when reading determinism in a nutshell. The Tuesday's breakfast is a very close world to me so I could influence it without any problems. The easiest and least painful would be by renaming that meal xD But with my power I can't influence the sun-up. BTW even if I had such power I wouldn't risk doing so.

I had some thoughts about how much can people influence the world around and I think that it depends on two things (along with many other factors):
1) abilities, skills, health and many other factors that determine someone's potential
2) someone's ambitions - what does "world around" mean for someone
And in my case I estimate maximum influence for 60%. That seems alot but take to the consideration that I don't have steep ambitions and I don't care about many things. I think it is a great thing to be able to have influence on the outcome of 60% of the events occuring around. It gives also some tolerance for widening the teritory of "world around" without popping down into the trap of determinism. And I think that every person has the threat of having their life determined. Our personalities are created by upbringing and environment (and also phisical aspects like the strength of nervous system). That means that we are programmed to behave in a certain way in certain situations. Determining things with the first thoughts, which have their genesis most certainly in subconsciousness is nothing more than... being oneself xD Going with gut feelings is behaving according to patterns. But people can always make decisions. Some have better and some worse outcome. Sometimes outcome might be unexpectedly huge. I believe that everyone might be able to cause butterfly effect. Even if I do realize that many things are determined in my life I like optimistic nihilism if it comes to philosophy of living. There's nothing better than dictating the purpose of life by myself if you ask me. Well OK maybe pizza with double cheese, tuna, ham and chicken is a lil better...

4. What if we humans want to think that we have a choice, when in reality what we'll do or happen is far away from our control? For instace, some studies say that we are bound to make a voluntary muscular movement even before we think we want to do it.
