In all of my life, I have found that out of all religions, most people who aren't Christian dislike Christianity more out of all the other religions. My question is: why?
Dan, no doubt within the religious playgrounds called churches people like to seperate themselfs by either being a protestant or Catholic. But if you are someone one the outside looking in on either church...the differences are minute.
Ashleree, I always saw it as some odd loop-hole. Not sure why. I just seem to figure that they were told not to marry and abstain from sexual relations. Which kind of both point towards relations with the opposite sex. I do not know, just throwing ideas out there.
If I recall correctly, the protestants split off for mainly the issue of the Catholic church taking money to absolve people of their sins. And about the pope being rich and far too powerful. And after reading through the list, I am more or less right.
I can see your point about Aristotle writing his own works, verses those of the gospels which recorded the events after the life of Christ.
But Aristotle's writings still had to be copied over the ages, as did the gospel letters. So in case of actual proof and evidence, we can be certain that what Matthew, Mark, Luke and John wrote about; was copied accurately; and was not altered over the course of time like some people say.
I can see your point about outsiders grouping the church into one big category (Protestants/Catholics) and seeing their combined fallacies over the years; whether its the Crusades or the Sexual abuse in the Church.
But the fallacies are the results of sinful humans and they do a poor job of representing the message found in the bible.
So on behalf of all the other Christians out there, I'd like to apologize to anyone who has been burnt by the Church or by the people within the Church. This is not what Jesus taught, and it's a poor representation of what It means to be someone who follows Jesus.
Well I read in a book that all gods of every religion are not gods but missionarys for 1 god, that they were sent by god to spread wisdom to the people...
i think the main reason it's hated is because of it because if you say that being jewish is the correct religion or any other religion, most followers will stand up about how wrong you are and how jesus walked upon us, well were i live it is. oh and hi i'm new lol.
Christianity is hated because people don't like the practices that they.. well.. practice. they don't like them because they think that they will have to go to church and pray and stuff like that. they also don't like it because they want to have a free $ex life
