My personal opinion is that guns are just fine. Guns help us provide security for our families if something ever happens, but I want to here your opinions.
With guns come the ability to kill easier, faster, and more succesfully. They also allow people to hunt and protect their families.
Guns are nothing more than tools. It is how they are used which determines if they are good or bad. Pencils are bad when used to stab people in the eyes but overall good since they allow us to write and draw.
They have both a Good and bad side to them. The good is that it does provide security but no matter when you shoot someone, trouble will come. And the bad is just obvious...kill people.
Guns are good because they are used for protection. Bad because they are used to kill for no reason. We do have the right to bear arms, but the way we use them determines whether or not they are good or bad.
Saying that guns are bad is like saying that knives are bad. Yet without knives, we lose one of our most useful tools (despite the large number of stabbings). Guns are useful for self defense, for hunting, and for recreation (I've done quite a bit of recreational shooting in my day). There will be people who abuse them, like there will be people who abuse any right. Does that mean we should lose it? That's illogical.
Theyre neiter. Theyre not good or bad. Guns, by themselves, dont do anything except sit there and be made of metal, power, and maybe a little plastic. It all depends whos hands the gun is in. Even nuclear missiles arent good or bad. it depends on who's using it.
Guns are great! If you're speaking of recreational use. They're really fun to use, shooting at targets, hunting for game, etc. If you haven't fired one yet, I suggest you go to your local gun dealership and go for a test shootout.
To quote Eddie Izzard, "Guns don't kill people, people don't kill people, bullets kill people, actually. Although, a gun might make it a little easier. Give one man a gun, and give the other not a gun, and tell them to fight to the death. See who wins."

That's like saying a knife can kill. But it's not the knife who is charged with murder, much like it's not the gun or the bullet that's charged with murder. It's the person who's abusing the tool.
with guns come responsibility. with responsibilty comes two choices. "follow my duties, or stray away and be a fool?" with those two choices, you have the chance to change your life for better or worse. guns are merely tools. it's how they're used that counts.
guns are fine.. as long as its the right people behind them. I think there should be a sanity test before you can purchase a gun. Because who wants an insane person running around wiht a gun
I think people are going to find a way to kill one another regardless of what laws are in place to try to stop that. The restrictions in the U.S. are incredibly lenient and should probably be overhauled, but I also wonder what would happen to the sport of hunting if gun access was severely limited. I suppose authorities could make the system so that a person who wanted to hunt would have to be a member of a designated "hunting lodge" where all the guns were kept.
