Personally if I was in high school again, I would want it to be longer. I find school more interesting then siting at home and basically doing nothing. Knowledge is power.
i hope so.. some americans are really just dumb compared to other countries like germany.
One, there's dumb people everywhere. Two, attempting to teach dumb people more stuff in less overall time won't get you anywhere. More school time isn't the answer, it's a different curriculum.

What information is that? At school they don't teach us anything. Every 5-6 class periods at my school we go over something "new" otherwise, I just sleep or read a book, because doing pounds worth of paper of busy work is just not doing anything for anyone.

Congress can't change school days since that power if left up to the states. Congress could withhold money from schools unless they make the school day longer just like they did with NCLB to require states to have a standards they test on.
Have schools go to school 4 days and a week and make the day longer. You would save a ton of money due to transportation and food costs.
Well as I live in Ukraine, even if Obama DID manage to brainwash Congress and all the states, I still wouldn't be effected.
Basically, my school is in between American and Asian schools. So it's still pretty challenging and I can't afford to sleep. Also, the classes are really small (ranging from 6-12 students a class >.< so I even if I did sleep, I'd get caught.
