Nah, I am a newbie mod. Newbie mods have a habit of looking at the rules and go "This is how it has to happen." Which apparently makes us stricter.
And then the 'old' mods remember to tell you not to hit users with a sledge hammer.

And power corrupts. Having the chance of becoming a chat mod, since they would need a bigger amount, and perhaps there would be less restrictions on the field, would corrupt fast.

And AG would look real bad (Lik the Ubertuna thing, except that was April Fools...) if they made someone a chat mod who then abuses it (Allowing friends to get through, flaming themselves...), in which case I bet the chat would be taken down (Again).

But you have to admit, it is actually one of the better chat threads. At least there is discussion, and not just posts of 'I agree' and 'you're wrong'.
And I bet there won't be a lor of chat-bans.
People would come just to spam and then get banned. We may have a list as long as Santa's Naughty list if we did Chat-ban. And quite frankly, I would just ban chat spammers (Because they'd probably get pissed of for being chat-banned, and spam the comments and Forums).
Back when there was chat, only the Squire and Serf chats were spammed.

im not sure spaming in a chat is a big deal :/ if it is, then just put a block if somebody repeats the same word a lot of times. Also, having more chat mods. And having chat rooms. Some rooms only for knight and up, or some only Duke and up....
Mabey it could only be for the people who have ever been in the top 1000, most of those people aren't spamers.
There are high ranked spammers. There were even spammers in the top 10. Besides, it would be unfair if our active community grew over 1000 (I think we might have already).

1. Ranks: People, no matter what rank, all act the same way when chatting. as people have said, the higher-ranked people are the ones that spam. Majority even more than the lower-ranked users. How do you think they got that much AP in the first place? They are like "oh boy AP! then they get a lot, and they're like "aww, it doesn't matter anymore...". Point is, why segregate by rank if they are all one people? No this is not a racial speech XD
2. Mods: Why have chat room mods if...you don't want them or don't trust them enough to be a regular community mod anyway? It's like those minimods we talked about a while back; it just can't happen.

Well there you have it. That's my whole experience with being in a chat room. Sometimes, there wouldn't really be any people in one. This would be the result of a chat room months after being used, in my opinion. Obviously the whole no AP hype would surface, and only those that actually cared about talking would use it. No AP, few people; 1 AP per line, 50,000 people.
You people are all so afraid of spam and disorder. Honestly, grow a pair. Those who spam are just mentally retarded, they can't help their genetically encrypted condition. Until science catches up, who cares about spam?
Because spam isn't just about repeated words over and over again. It also branches off to expletives and images that should otherwise not be seen on public monitors. This is an all-audiences, if not, pg-13-related website, yes?

Yes, there can be programming involved in blocking and banning from chat rooms. Question of the day though. What conditions need to be met in order to pull off a successful block/ban? In other words, if a person sends 3 messages in 2 seconds, they will be blocked. Again, they will be banned. By a bot, but not from an actual person.

Somehow I don't think spammers will be a big problem here, it's more the amount of people wanting to go in a chatroom and talk to eachother... I think most people are satisfied with the current comment system now to care about having a chatroom too I guess!

Nope. As bots do not have intelligence, they do not learn by themselves.So there are always holes in the system, which must be tirelessly filled by mods and admins.
I see spamming as different to flaming or trolling. That's just random hatred. Proffessional spamming is a meticulous process, hence organised, and it's against the rules of the site, hence it's a crime.
