I saw this Call of Duty: Black Ops trailer in which a sniper gets bombed after a remote controlled model car strapped with a bomb device (cute, ain't it?) got him. So I'm confused now. Are snipers supposed to camp?
Okay, quick thing - we're talking about games.
lol :P We are mentioned CoD: Black Ops as what is part of the main topic, real life is MUCH different.
Obsolete argument unless it's real life (this is also put in the video games section).
A couple examples of what I was talking about, DoD is a steam game that uses muzzle flash, along with rainbow six, and a crap load of other games. In fact I can't recall a single game that does not show muzzle flash when you fire a gun. Unless of coarse in that game you have one of those fancy anti-muzzle flash devices. I never said anything about real life. In fact, I wasn't one of the people filling up two pages of this thread talking about weather or not a RL gun, (that they'll probably never even see in real life, much less fire), has enough kick to make your shot inaccurate, or the difference between the damage a 50 caliber bullet could do. I doubt the majority of people in this thread could describe to me what gun oil even smells like. No offense to anyone who actually has, does, and or could.

In such a case I apologise sickroon, however what I mean is, in CoD games, Muzzle flash isn't that required. In other games, I haven't seen it used aty all, DoD? I don't know what it stands for
Rainbow 6, I never paid much attention to the game, but plz, tell me how useful muzzle is

I really forgot how the 2 page argument on real life guns go, however I did remember to put in on-topic info on each post (I think), but it seemed as if either u or another person was tying it in to real life:P
In which case, I apologize

And there is no reason to put on topic info anymore, as the majority of people have input their "yes" answer. For hopefully the last time - YES!

Are snipers supposed to camp? Yes and no.

One might wait in a specific location to take out a high priority target, but taking a second shot from the same location gives away your position, third probably means death.

Ah, thank you!

Actually nowadays it only takes one shot (unsuppressed) to give away your location.......well, not really, but they will know where to look.

course snipers can camp its the best thing about being a sniper apart from blowing your enemies brains all up the wall with a 50cal

In any MW game, plz don't use the 50.cal lol.
Pro's always use the bolt action guns, and I don't blame them, I'm not saying you're not pro, I'm saying play a little more like one :P

btw: people on YouTube that play on consoles are not pros.
P.S PC CoD4 Promod is the only pro thing for MW games

Well, generally semi-automatic weapons can be used with greater effect when it comes to spraying, sniping isn't about that, on any game. You might as well use an M14 / FAL if you can't manage to hit the target first.

And it helps your 1-shot-1-kill skill, no rhyme intended.
Just a little thing pro's do :P Use bolt-action ones, much better.

Oh, and bolt-action snipers tend to do more damage in the game (Intervention does more damage than a barrett, but I think the WA does more dmg).

Personally I preffer the EBR cos I like the rate of fire and I hate seeing 2 targets and only catching 1, I wouldnt mind this so much if it didnt come out the scope to reload, but then Im not pro, Im just good at games.

I loooove the FAL but its not a scratch on COD4's G3. I could shoot across the map with iron sights on that baby.

By the way, there is another version of the Barrett 50.cal which is Bolt Action, I'd prefer it have really good bullet penetration and be able to collateral with one shot, without stopping power.
That's what I hate about CoD

The pros that use the Barrett are far more skilled than those with the Intervention. To get one shot one kills with the Barrett it's necessary to headshot whereas with semi-auto sniper rifles the player can shoot practically anywhere and kill instantly. If you're quickscoping however, always use a semi-auto sniper because you can't be sure you're always going to get a headshot.

Exactly why the M21 is still my favourite sniper rifle. Besides the very futuristic design, the WA2000 would be better if it didn't look like a magnifying glass, pipe and huge block of wood.

Oh, it's an acoustic sensor. If a sniper fires a shot, it gives the location of the sniper. Like north-northeast, so you know the direction of the shot and can then respond accordingly...............artillery barrage.
