Why do half the people who visit the WEPR forums smear Christianity? Why don't you people realize that, yeah, Christians can be real dumb-a** mofo's from time to time, but yet there are many, many Christian organizations out there that do good all across the globe. Why must you spend your time trying to convince people that Christians are bad people when that is simply not true?

When Jesus of Nazareth first began preaching Jewish religious leaders shunned him. There was a clear difference.

The leaders didn't like Jesus, becuse he undermined their authourity with the people. The Saducees, Pharacees, and the others who formed the Sanhedrin, were also angry at Jesus for claiming he was the son of God. They didn't like the idea of retribution from the son of a blacksmith from the fishing town of Nazaretth.

AD actually means Anno Domini, or in english: In the year of our Lord. Hence the reason there is no 0 BC or 0 AD.

I think we start from the misrepresentations.

What does that mean?

the rest during the times of the Apostle's and the Disciples.

Actually it would have been mostly written after them.

So do you believe that Christ was never born at all?

There may have been a real person the stories were based on, however there is a possibility this character was completely made up based on a number of stories of both real and fictional characters.

Playing games is not comparable to living a way of life.

I've known people who would disagree. For them gaming is a way of life.

Yes I do. If you have no answer, then why do you defend it?

Your question isn't making much sense.

Have you bothered reading Frank's post yet Valkery?

So please, don't spout silly things, further your argument instead! That's always a good plan.

-sigh- It was enforcing my point that Jesus was considered to be a Jewish leader, not the leader of an entirely new religion. It wasn't that hard of a connection to make...

Every religion is crap. I don't care if it is Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hindu, Buddhism, Daoism, whatever, they are all meaningless, because they are not true. Do you know how many religions created in this world. Many. Do you know how many branches of those religions? How much of a combination is that do you wonder? Even if it was just 1/100, what makes you think your religion is correct? There is a 1/50000 shot that your religion is right, and 49,999 it is wrong and you will burn for it. Why practice a religion at all then? What if another is right? What if a religion that hasn't been founded is correct?

on the contrary, all of the books of the new testament were written while Jesus' twelve disciples were alive (before 100AD)

My question is simply: "Would you die for Atheism?"

No tricks, no strings. Just a question.

I was enforcing my point that Jesus was considered to be a Jewish leader, not the leader of an entirely new religion. It wasn't that hard of a connection to make...

Is that how you react? Trying to make me seem stupid by making it seem like an easy connection? Oh sure it was easy, but pointless. "Savior" is an english word! That should make an easy connection shouldn't it? By your standards it should.

"Savior" is an english word!

Yeah, you yourself said that the word doesn't matter. Why are you bringing it up? Jesus was the King of the Jews, was he not? He was born a Jew, and was raised a Jew. It was not long afterwards that he started preaching the new religion which came to be Christianity. They named him Messiah, and, according to you, the name does not matter. I think it does.

Jesus didnt preach a new religion. He was the fulfillment of Judaism, being the pinnacle of the entire old testament profecies. He was trying to bring the Jews back to God, but they rejected him

I meant that he preached the teachings which came to be known as Christianity. My mistake.

I can't say I would.

I refrain from saying die as I can not say that if this right were ever challenged what I would do. Different situations breed different people.

I can say that I would fight for the right of every man, woman, and child to believe what ever it is they wish to believe. In that case I care not whether they are theist or atheist, they have every right to believe whatever they wish.

While Jesus was known as the king of the Jews he never claimed that title, or any other title, other than son of God.

He was born a Jew, and was raised a Jew.

He may have been born a Jew, but he was the son of a Virgin, so he was technically the son of God who is obviously connected to both religions, but is more influencing in Christian beliefs.

Do tell, how does it matter? How does it matter that His name was either Messiah, or Savior, or Prince of Peace, or Yaweh? What does it matter that he was called one specific name? He was called many names!

The fact that the word is Jewish does not matter. That's what I was saying...

And I still want an answer, "Who will die for Atheism?"
