I know there's an annual Colony tournament that would like to be started, but I want to lay down some ground rules from the start.
When this tournament is over, we'll lock this topic until next year, when we'll update the thread title to reflect the current year.
RULES
1. This tournament does not "belong" to Quicksmasher/Fasty. He may have started it in the past, but he is no longer welcome as a member of our site FOR ANY PURPOSE, even if just to post on forums. The tournament will only be called the "Colony Tournament".
2. In compliance with our other rules, players proved to be cheating will face a 31-day temporary ban from the site. Circumvention of this ban, or a second hacking offense, will result in a permanent ban from the site. NO EXCEPTIONS. Report them to SoymasterYos or brp47 who will investigate and report to me.
3. Players who are permanently banned from the site may participate as GUESTS (not logged into the site or the game) if the tournament planners allow it, but creation of an account for this tournament will GET THE TOURNAMENT THREAD SHUT DOWN, and bans will be handed out. End of discussion.
4. The last active thread had a HUGE amount of text (copied from at least one or two other threads) written as a graphic image, which is unacceptable by our forum rules. We do NOT allow posting images of text, or posting text in alternate colors. Please continue to abide by these rules. Other tournament threads were shut down because we suspected that Fasty was trying to circumvent his bans in order to revive the tournament, or because they broke other forum rules (advertising, posting text as an image, etc).
As moderators and staff of the company, we still have the final say on whether a thread lives or dies, including this one.

With all that, let the games begin. Good luck to our players.

To get over this, this is what the game was made for nonsense here are Krin's words for his game:
"Also my first game to feature online multiplayer battles, both PvP and against CPUs You can rank up, play with your friends, or play against other people."
kinda..but in 100% positive it was meant for 2v2, but as you know 1v1 from the beginning was known about and accepted... i have some more votes... ill put them on soon
no..that is an unfair statement. anyway, what do you think the next rule should be to debate over.... i suggest "how should we decide the winner" so should it be a round robin... or groups then quarters semis and finals... but i think what went rong in other tournaments was that 2 people were not in the same place at the same time. if we made it that player 1 has to play 2 of either player 2, player 3 or player 4.. but we will have to work out what to do.....for now you can think about that while i count up more votes and work out how to set up games soo people can have opponents rather than not playing a game for months and months.
I'm going to give the pros and cons of 1vs1 and 2vs2 and briefly explain them (if needed). Afterwards, I'll be giving my vote.
1vs1 pros includes, but not limited to:
- Easier to organize. - Makes players play to their extent. - Less data to deal with. - Less bs (hopefully). - There is less of a chance that bugs will happen during game play (invincible units, computer out of sync, etc.) - More likely that a person will show up. - Allows a maximum of 2 spectators/referees.
1vs1 cons includes, but not limited to:
- Many imbalances in the game can takes place (unless you're a freaking smart guy who knows a counter for EVERYTHING). - Brings a nervous feeling to players.
2vs2 pros includes, but not limited to:
- Makes players work as a team. - Leaves more strategies open. - Even though Krin didn't say that the game was intended for 2vs2 games, he made the game so there can be a max of 4 players playing in the game. - You'll have less to no nervous feeling when playing because you have a partner there to support you.
2vs2 cons includes, but not limited to:
- More likely for bugs to happen in game (invincible units, out of sync computers, lag, etc.) - More data to deal with. - Some players won't play very well and will depend on their partner. - More likely for players to not show up. (irresponsible) - No room for spectators/referees. - More bs will have to be dealt with.
As you can see, having a 1vs1 tournament has less cons than a 2vs2 tournament. So even though Krin probably made Colony for mainly (not only, mainly) 2vs2 games, having a 1vs1 tournament will be easier to handle. Plus, in my opinion, 1vs1 tournaments is just as fun as 2vs2 tournaments, but 1vs1 is very easy to handle.
so should it be a round robin... or groups then quarters semis and finals... but i think what went rong in other tournaments was
Ima stop you right there. Why? Because these 1v1 tournaments have succeded before. They have had epic results with even videos on youtube. Dont say they failed.
another pro of 2v2 is that the torney will have less rounds and games to be organised.. even if you need more players in one place at one time, you will have half the matches
