Welcome to the Art Skills Competition 2014/2015, or "ASC" for short. It is a contest to gather willing artists from the forums to compete in a friendly test of their skills and reward the best of their work each round.
Rounds will take place each month, the last day of the month will be the final cutoff for any entries. The judging will take place the first week of the following month.

Competition Guidelines :
1. The entry must be 100% original material.
2. Each round lasts for a month; closing date is at the end of that month.
3. Submissions should be relevant to the current month's theme. (See thread's title)
4. Keep posts resolutions within reason and if you must have a larger resolution, link it to the entry.
5. Entries can be created in any medium, please note that it will be appreciated if hand drawn entries are cropped to contain only the intended work.
6. Winners will be announced by the judge of the competition at the end of each round; the results are final and non-debatable.
7. The winner of a round will have the right to choose the next theme; if this takes too long, the judge will choose one instead.
8. All participants of each round will receive a Merit for their hard work; the winner of each round will receive the Armor Games "Artist Quest"!
Round 1: Knight
This months theme will be dedicated to creating a knight representing that of Armor Games, it is a non official character to try and stir the imaginations of artists and viewers. The artist should endeavor to embody Armor Games in a Knightly character.
The monster in the dark is one of the more detailed of all the entries. Though the sillohetted character could have used
some form of expression on is reaction to the beast. It would have been interesting if you made it a bit of a sequence with a second frame. Though by itself it does bring a bit of couriosity to the scene.
Koshionos
A good start to a creepy scene but the lack of tension and detail makes the entry a bit plain.

It is an interesting premise that you bae the drawing on but what if the subject were face to face with the grasping nightmares and the light from his eyes were erasing the shadowy being? I just do not understand the setup of it being behind you is really close to not seeing it.

I think this illustration has a great story to tell. Though the words explicitly say it I think it might have been better if they were excluded and allowed for the imagrey to express itself
Winner
Cenere
There were some great entries this round bt I think I will have to give it to Cenere, His second entry has more ambiance and shows an improvement to the lighting though the facial expression seem a bit more subdued if his character is suppose to be firghtened, something about the mouth just makes him seem calmer than the first.
Overall it is what I am looking for in peoples entries, a development in their drawings as it goes on over the course of 3 weeks.
@Cenere Congratulations! I liked your work very much!
@Hectichermit The hands are coming from behind his head because his mind is the source of his nightmares, when he wakes up to reality, these nightmares disappear.
Seems that there's been a flawd in handing out the Merits for every participant of previous rounds... I'll make sure to correct this over the next couple of days though!
