I am not in any way trash talking atheists, but what i don't see is their sole purpose. Do they get some sort of delight i trying to lure people away from their beliefs? You tell me.
Well I understand what your talking about but it is wrong to believe that ALL atheists hate or try to deter religious behavior or religious people from acting religiously. I'm atheist but my whole father's side of the family is Christian and actively go to church. My mother's side is Buddhist. And personally I don't mind them being religious. I think it is kind of a waste of time but I keep those kinds of things to myself. The atheists your talking about are just arrogant people in general. I would compare them to religious people who always try to convert people or tell them their way of thinking is wrong. It goes both ways.
First, religion to me would not be a problem, if it did not effect my daily life. Politics are partially controlled by religion, just look at all the religion based campaigns. It also gets in the way of scientific thinking in many cases, as seen on this sight when Christians end up with "Screw science! It is just a diversion created by Satan to lure you away from Christianity"... Yes, some people actually said that.
Hey look! A Cristian campaign against abortion! Hey look! A LDS campaign against abortion! Hey look! Cristian hate crimes against a Muslim! Hey look! Muslim hate crimes against Christians! Hey look! ....
We're...luring people away from their religion? I'm not sure why you think that.
Well..not all Atheists are men and women of science but a good majority of them are. We seek genuine and scientific ways of the truth--why this happens, how this happens, and what can be done to alter, manipulate, or replicate it. The definition of science is 'to know'. We seek truths of how and why things happen, not stories of how and why things happen. I could not put it any different than that; sorry.
Other than that, there pretty much is no "spiritual" benefit for being an Atheist, besides being free to believe what you want and not harking to a written system of rules, regulations, and morals of the religious mind. I have a problem with religion because what is being taught as being good at the same time is also teaching others that this is wrong, without letting others choose what to believe "lest they invoke the wrath of their masters". Homosexuality and abortion, to name a couple.

And what is it about Christians to them? We are just like anyone else living, we put our shoes on just like you.
It's not just Christianity, but Christianity is the largest religion so it's likely most atheists will have more experience and interaction with it so most atheists will often have more to say about it.
As a Christian why do you feel the need to convert others? It's because you think your religion is correct right, and not believing this religion is harmful, am I correct? So if you saw some ones way of think being the root of many harmful acts, wouldn't you want to try and change that? Now I'm not saying this is the case with every person that's religious, I'm just trying to show a flip side to this question.
